It faces Saint Paul de Vence, in the authentic village of La Colle sur Loup, located between sea and mountain, 10 minutes away from the Nice airport and beaches, and half-way between Monaco and Cannes.
Anne d’Hauterives has abandoned her interior design activity to focus on her long-time dream – the French art of entertaining! With a refined balance between old stones, antique and modern furniture, shimmering silks and raw materials, under the Mediterranean sun, she has managed, through sheer passion, to recreate the charm of this old mansion, in an aerial and feminine atmosphere prone to dreams and conversations!
To illustrate her renovation of this place, she quotes the famous British painter J.M.W Turner, who answered critics about his painting “Tempête de neige“:
“I haven’t painted this for it to be understood, but to show what such a scene looks like.”
Now a guest house, la Forge d’Hauterives is a beautiful village mansion, with its ornamental Provençal entrance gate and its paved, shady patio. It welcomes you at its table and offers 5 rooms, private terraces, relaxation rooms, and an adorable enclosed garden featuring an 18th-century overflow pool.
It is no coincidence that each room is named after a precious exotic type of wood from far away countries: “Amourette“, “Palissandre“, or “Amarante“. Surrounded with antique-dealer shops, the mansion regularly organizes art exhibits and cultural events.
This provides numerous opportunities to experience truly intimate encounters and conversations with artists, between excursions or meals around Anne’s table d’hôte.
